Laser Tattoo Removal
Laser tattoo removal technique can get rid of your unwanted tattoo with minimal side effects. When tattooing the ink is deposited into the skin in the dermal layer of the skin which is beneath the epidermis, which is not accessible. So sum of creams and ointment will not be helpful in depigmenting the ink.
There are some options to get rid of ink they are as follow
1. Surgical method:
There is excision in which cutting of the tattoo, part of the skin and approximating the skin and suturing the two edges.
2. Skin Grafting :
It involves covering of the skin with another layer of the skin taken from elsewhere from your own body.
3. Laser Tattoo removal :
This is noninvasive removal of tattoo pigment using Q-switched laser. Typically black and darker colored inks can be removed completely while lighter color such a yellow and green color are difficult to remove and requiring more number of settings.
How It Works?
Tattoo consists of thousands of particles of tattoo pigments suspended in the skin. Tattoo pigment particles are too big to be removed automatically. Laser treatment cause tattoo pigment particles to heat up and fragment into smaller pieces. These smaller pieces are the removed by normal body processes. Q-Switched lasers produce burst of infrared light at specific frequency that target a particular spectrum of color in the tattoo ink. The laser passes through the upper layer off the skin to target a specific pigment in the lower layer. It blasts of the larger tattoo particle into the smaller tattoo particles which are excreted through the body.
Number laser tattoo removal treatment sessions needed:
It require 6 to 10 session depending on the size of the tattoo, the color that are involved in the tattoo and the site of the tattoo. During the; tattoo removal depending on the site and size of the tattoo local anesthesia may need to be used. If it is used then we have to wait 60 to 90 minutes till it acts and laser tattoo removal procedure is done. The duration between each session is one month.
Post treatment consideration
Immediately after laser treatment slightly elevated or discoloration with or without presence of punctate bleeding is often observed. Minimal edema and erythema of adjacent normal skin usually resolve within 24 hrs. Subsequently a crust appears over the entire tattoo. Which slough of at approximately two weeks post treatment?

Local application of steroid and antibiotic creams moisturizers and broad spectrum sunscreen.
